Workshops

Would you like to...

Increase your pupils Self Esteem and Confidence ?

Enhance their Communication Skills ?

Encourage them to try something new and have fun in the process ?

Inspire them to be Creative ?

If the answer is  YES  to any of the above questions, then this section will be of interest to you as the workshops which I specialise in have been developed to achieve  ALL of the above aims.

The workshops are presented within a classroom environment. The age ranges that they are aimed at are 5-7 year olds, 7-11 year olds and 11-12 year olds, although this can be tailored to meet your specific age ranges with structure and the themes of the workshops modified to suit your exact requirements. They can even compliment specific term topics within your curriculum with relevant content.

Whilst concentrating on proportions and ratios, I also encourage the children to try their best, but reassure them that making mistakes is all part of the learning process.

My self taught techniques which have served me well during my career as an Artist are easy to follow, understandable and perfect for pupils as I present them in a child friendly format.

For more of an insight into the benefits and advantages of my Workshops, please see below extracts taken from the references I possess.

"Ian Brealey led an activity workshop with a small group of Year 7 students in our Inclusion Centre.  He was punctual, organised and very professional throughout the day. His manner with the students was wonderful and his enthusiasm was excellent. The students were thoroughly engaged and enjoyed the activity immensely.  Ian's praise and encouragement was exemplary and the drawings that the students created were of a very high standard.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Ian to any school as his work with our students was very beneficial on a number of levels, notably for their Self Esteem, Creativity and for Motivating them to try something new."

MISS R. COOPER, DEPUTY HEAD OF YEAR 7, TUPTON HALL SCHOOL, DERBYSHIRE.

"The children were helped and guided , step by step and the results were fantastic.  The children had learned something they did not know before but one of the best things was that all of the teachers and assistants also got to have a go.  The sense of achievement within the whole school was evident in every class especially.  I would recommend setting Doodle Bug a challenge and see what they could do for your school.  A new skill for a very reasonable price - Go for it ! "

MRS C. SPENCE, ACTING HEADTEACHER, WARREN HILLS COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL, LEICESTERSHIRE.

"I am writing to thank you for your excellent contributions to our recent Art Day at school.  You had four groups of 20 pupils aged 7-11 years,  taking them all for cartoon drawings .  I liked the way you introduced each group to your work showing them how you composed your artwork and the children all enjoyed attempting their own cartoons following your example.  The whole day was a great success and we certainly appreciated the work you did with the children - they all said how much they enjoyed it."

MR J. ANDERSON, DRONFIELD JUNIOR SCHOOL, DERBYSHIRE.
